Seiji KAWAI (4th batch student) participated in a summer school hosted by the John Innes Centre.

I participated in a summer school hosted by the John Innes Centre, where I attended lectures by
professors from around the world and participated in many small group discussions and computer
exercises to deepen my knowledge of the research field. I gave a poster presentation and

in many Q&A sessions. In addition, through dormitory life, meals, and excursions, they
communicated closely with their peers from overseas and built friendly relationships. Through
the above activities in an environment where there was not a single other Japanese participant, I
was able to improve my extensive research skills, including communication and networking skills
with overseas researchers.
